You don’t need to sleep all day or drink ten coffees to have more energy and focus – these 7 tiny healthy habits can help you boost energy naturally!

There are these days when I can’t even make it out of the bed, my brain is confused, so it’s better just to watch a stupid movie and wait for the next day. Brain fog, stress, endometriosis fatigue….we all deal with them.

You want to have more energy throughout the day, be productive, and have the capacity to live life even after work. Then when the day is done, you’re proud of the things you’ve accomplished and feel happy because you’ve made progress. We all need a good ol’ energy boost sometimes.

Or every day. So is there a way to boost our energy naturally, without caffeine? To be honest with you, lately, I’ve been none of the above. I’m always tired and sometimes I even find myself lost…For a few weeks, I felt so tired and lethargic, and somewhat overwhelmed with everything I “have” to do. The moment I woke up I was already exhausted. I’m always sleepy, not productive at all, and sometimes I feel like a zombie.

My daily routine is completely destroyed and I need to start from scratch. I kept asking myself – how can I boost energy naturally?

Should I sleep more? Food?

Do coffees count?

Yoga or exercises?

I needed to go back to my basics.

The things that I know make me feel happy and awesome when I actually do them. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not a lazy person, I’m used to be active and super productive. But, taking care of my little girl, managing my blog, cooking, and living with endometriosis sometimes is really taff.

So, last week I finally had enough of feeling like I don’t even have a physical body like I’m drained. I wrote down my little list and started working on it right away (which is also something I’ve struggled with for the longest time). And tada – magic.

Within a day, I started feeling more clear-headed, energetic, and overall better. I even wrote down this article about how to boost energy naturally and I feel like a Superwoman! Here are some ways that you can boost your energy naturally, without caffeine.

7 WAYS TO BOOST ENERGY NATURALLY

There are a lot of things that we can do to kill the brain-fog and get our bodies feeling more energetic, and you cant buy them in a coffee shop. Here are some ways that you can boost your energy naturally, without caffeine.

1. CHANGE YOUR DIET

EAT A CLEAN DIET & MORE PLANTS

There is no way to feel better and boost your energy or even look good if you eat junk food every day. If you don’t eat a healthy diet you will never be productive. It’s simple – you need the nutrients to feed your brain, your muscles, your entire body.

Plants like fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds are shown to reduce inflammation and are nutrient-densest foods in the world. Following an anti-inflammatory diet will help you to be less fatigued and you’ll be giving your body what it needs to be healthier.

Here are the top foods to boost energy, focus, and concentration:

Avocados Pass the guac, please! Filled with folate and vitamin K, avocados help prevent blood clots and improve the brain’s ability to function.

Beets When it comes to improving mental performance, you can’t beat beets! This bright-colored veggie is filled with nitrates that increase blood flow to the brain, boosting focus and concentration.

Salmon Not only is this fish delicious, but it contains omega-3 fatty acids to boost your brain health. In fact, it is scientifically proven to help prevent ADHD in children

You can also help your body with some supplements – how to boost energy with medicinal mushrooms.  Drinking green juices can be a great way to boost your energy!

2. WAKE UP AT THE SAME TIME, EVEN AT THE WEEKEND

Yes, that’s right.

Waking up at the same time every day will boost your energy and help you be more productive.  Having the perfect morning routine is not so easy, trust me.

The best thing I’ve ever done is to wake up really early.

When I say early I mean before everyone else. Yes, it is possible. But be realistic.

Waking up at 5 am may be really hard for you. It was also for me, but I did it. That gives me the possibility to do millions of things before everyone else is awake. And for me, it’s like a new life. I need time.

24 hours per day is not enough. But if you can’t handle it, 6 am is also a good choice. Now I’m gonna take a chance and tell you, not only to get the 8 hours of sleep you need every night but also to wake up at the same time. This makes it easier to get into a routine and start getting better sleep.

This means you’ll have more energy and be able to stay focused and think clearly. If you wake up one day at 7, the other at 9, you’ll either feel tired throughout the day or won’t be able to sleep in the evening.

3. EXERCISE

Want to keep your mental ability sharp? Get moving. Exercising boosts energy!

I exercise regularly and I have more energy, more ability to focus, and feel really great!

The best part is how little exercise is required in order to see all of these benefits. The most important thing is to make a plan that is consistent, not overwhelming.

Whether you can exercise 1x/week or 4x/week, it doesn’t matter. To see the benefits, you just need to set a plan that you will not fail. “What type of exercise are you willing to do?”

Although there are many different physical benefits based on the type of exercise you choose, the brain doesn’t really care. As long as you’re not laying down, sitting, or standing still, you will see the willpower benefits of exercise. So don’t set a rigorous and intimidating workout routine if you’re just getting started. Start small and be consistent.

4. TAKE A BREAK FROM TECHNOLOGY

Unplugging isn’t always easy, but it’s essential for your mental state. Not to mention it’s disruptive – you will be much more productive by eliminating the distraction.

So just disconnect!

I did it last year around Christmas with Facebook and Instagram. It was really hard in the beginning but after a while, I felt so relieved and free. After a couple of days, I didn’t miss it and I had much more time to do things for myself. Which really boosted my mood and confidence.

5. LISTEN TO MUSIC

A good way to distract yourself from all stress is by listening to music. Something that can lift your spirit and make you feel happier. This will help you be more positive and happy all day and it will help you relax, so you can recharge and have more energy the next day.

Numerous studies confirm the therapeutic effects of music. As it turns out, something very interesting happens in the brain when we listen to a song. In one study, researchers studied information technology specialists and found that those who listened to music finished their tasks faster and were more innovative with brainstorming ideas.

Music boosted their mood. I love rock&roll. But sometimes I just put on some classic music and enjoy the notes. Isn’t it amazing!

6. MEDITATION

It’s no secret that mindfulness and meditation go hand-in-hand. To enter a more focused state of awareness, you need to clear your mind and let go of negative, stressful thoughts. Researchers continue to discover new health benefits.

For example, meditation activates the part of the brain responsible for focus and learning. Meditation is an excellent practice for reducing stress and increasing happiness, but it also helps your ability to focus.

7. HAVE A PLAN

Having a plan can take so much stress off you. For many of us, our attention is usually split into ten different directions due to our lifestyle. While there are some things you can’t control, like a demanding, high-pressure job, you can learn how to consolidate and get organized.

Whether it’s deciding upfront what you’re gonna wear, what you’re gonna eat, which workout you’ll do & when you’ll do it – when you decide upfront – you’ll be more focused and won’t waste your energy on decisions that aren’t actually important. Take a look at your to-do list. Keep what’s important and cut what doesn’t need to be done today.

Keep in mind it helps to do the most challenging tasks first while you have the most energy and focus.

These were the 7 small things you can do every day to have more energy and focus. Now, because I’m always looking for ways to get better, I’m curious if there are things you do for more energy.

xo,

Lora
