If you read my blog posts you probably have noticed that in 2018 I met an incredible Italian homeopath who gave me another way to treat my endometriosis symptoms. I talk a lot about all the natural treatments for endometriosis. Today I would like to share with you my experience with an ancient treatment for the uterus that was exactly the solution I was looking for – yoni steaming and also yoni steam herbs.
For years, I dreaded my monthly cycle and all that came along with it – from the painful cramps to the fatigue. Endometriosis ruined my life, especially when it was time for my period. Endometriosis sent me running for the warm refuge of my bedroom for an entire week or more each month because I often felt heavy, bloated, and overwhelmed. I began to hate my body and my entire life. When you live with endometriosis you know that you shouldn’t consider “normal” to suffer so much each month.
Over the past year, I have been through so many life changes and health issues. I know that it’s difficult to find a pain relief that works for you but you need to try…because there are so many natural remedies for women’s health and endometriosis. And yoni steam definitely works. Not only for the pain but also for the menstrual cycle, womb, and…. Sex. Yoni steaming is essential when it comes to self-care and yoni steam is good for women with endometriosis.
I have dealt with various menstrual issues and fertility challenges in the past. I have accepted these challenges as facts of life, but what I’ve learned is that it’s not necessary to constantly be suffering from one thing or another. WHAT IS YONI STEAMING
Also known as vaginal steaming, the treatment uses medicinal plants (yoni steam herbs) to cleanse, heal and tone the uterus, which in turn reduces discomfort associated with menstruation and comes with a whole host of other benefits.
A yoni steam (aka. vaginal steam or V steams), is an old womanly healing art and they are becoming popular again. They are certainly part of the Maya healing lineage and used mainly to cleanse the uterus when there are menstrual difficulties, after birth, and with menopause to completely clean the womb when finished bleeding. Yoni steaming was exactly what I needed to treat my monthly menstrual woes. After steaming with some amazing yoni steam herbs just once per week for four months, my cramps, heavy flow, bloating and exhaustion virtually disappeared. I felt lighter, healthier, and more energetic. And the sex was more juicy. There are different types of yoni steam herbs that you can use, I will talk about that later.

I am happy to say that my results so far are amazing. I used to have excruciating painful periods, to the extreme that I would have to stop what I was doing and lie down in a fetal position. Not to mention my flow was so heavy, I would bleed through my clothing.
I even tried heat and massage to help soothe the pain. Pain meds were a last result which I had to take to get through my work shift. Now, after using the yoni steams a few times I am happy to say my periods are a breeze. They are lighter than they were, less gushing, very minimal discomfort. I went from using a tampon and double pads to just one pad.
I have been steaming once per week for about four months now and I have noticed a huge shift in how I connect to myself as a woman. I am more aware of my femininity, both physically and spiritually. My cramps have decreased significantly and I find that I am getting much better at working with my instincts and intuition. It is great to do yoni steam as close to your period as possible. However, if you are being treated for fertility issues and are not taking contraception, only do the steam before you ovulate.
To do your yoni steam you will need your yoni steam herbs mix, boiling water, a bowl, a towel, 20 minutes undisturbed alone time, and a toilet, steaming, or slatted stool. My personal recommendation is to invest some money in a yoni steam seat. I know that it’s quite expensive but once you have it, you will use it forever! It took me a couple of months to decide which you steam seat I like, in the end, I bought the Devi Steam Seat. It’s $77 I know…but it’s worth it! It’s comfortable and easy to use. There are several herbs that can be used in your own homemade yoni steam. If desired, you can add certain gemstones and crystals for further healing purposes. Usually, I use the herbs below.

HOW TO PREPARE YONI STEAM HERBS
Heat up about 6 cups of water. Remove the water from heat, add your herbs and cover with a lid. Let the herbs steep for about 10 minutes. If the water has gotten cold, heat it back up, then transfer the pot to your yoni steam station.
Yoni steam herbs can be used twice. If you plan to reuse your herbs, remove them from the pot before steaming and store them in the refrigerator.
Then you sit on yoni steam seat, and a combination of infrared and mugwort steam cleanses your uterus, et al. It is an energetic release—not just a steam douche—that balances female hormone levels.
At the end of my 20 minutes, I stand up and have a distinct feeling of emptiness. Not in a scary way but in a calming way. I feel good, empty, and just a little bit better than other people. It’s almost like I can hear a voice whispering into my vagina. “You are living your best life, Lora.”
